(Delran) – The New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police and the Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey announced their endorsement of Herb Conaway, MD and Jack Conners in their bids to represent the 7th Legislative District in the General Assembly.
The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers with more than 324,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. The FOP is committed to improving the working conditionsof law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation.
The Professional Firefighters Association’s parent organization the International Association of Firefighters, headquartered in Washington, DC, represents more than 295,000 full-time professional fire fighters and paramedics. The IAFF is the primary advocate for providing fire fighters and paramedics with the tools they need to perform their jobs.
"I am honored to have the support of the FOP and Professional Firefighters Association," said Conners. "I have always felt a responsibility to support the issues of importance to New Jersey's finest and bravest, and I will continue to do so as long as I serve in the legislature."
Assemblyman Conners is currently spearheading the effort to pass a bill considering cancer a compensable occupational disease of a firefighter for workers' compensation purposes. (A911)
