Democratic Assemblywomen Joan Voss and Connie Wagner today received the support of Planned Parenthood – a leading advocacy organization that pushes for quality women’s health care services and reproductive rights.
The Assemblywomen thanked the Planned Parenthood Political Action Committee and pledged to be consistent supporters of women’s health by opposing any effort to turn back the clock on reproductive health issues.
“New Jersey’s women have fought long-and-hard over the years for insurance coverage for mammograms, access to prescription birth control, or expanding health care for the uninsured. We need to keep moving forward to ensure that all women have affordable and accessible health care services,” said Wagner (D-Paramus), who serves as the vice-chairwoman of the Assembly Health and Senior Services.
“Access to women’s health care is not a matter that should be taken for granted,” said Voss (D-Fort Lee). “While others will quickly roll back the clock on women’s health, we will continue to stand up each-and-every time to protect reproductive rights and freedoms and health cares services for women.”
Voss and Wagner also have been endorsed by the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA). The pair is seeking re-election to the General Assembly representing the 38th Legislative District which includes parts of Bergen County.
